Tune your ear to those around you
Christians have forgotten that the ministry of listening has been committed to us by Him who is Himself the great listener and whose work we should share. (D Bonhoeffer)

Fear not ...
But there's another way - to let ourselves be seen. Deeply seen. Vulnerably seen; to love with our whole hearts, even though there's no guarantee - to practice gratitude and joy in those moments of terror. When we're wondering, 'Can I love you this much? Can I believe in this passionately? Can I be this fierce about this?' Just to be able to stop and, instead of catastrophizing what might happen, to say, 'I’m just so grateful, because to feel this vulnerable means I’m alive.' And to believe we are enough. (B Brown)

Life is too short to stay stuck.
2 Corinthians 6:11-13
I can’t tell you how much I long for you to enter this, wide-open, spacious life. We didn’t fence you in. The smallness you feel comes from within you. Your lives aren’t small, but you’re living them in a small way…Open up your lives. Live openly and expansively!

Get some skin in the game.
We Christians too often substitute prayer for playing the game. Prayer is good; but when used as a substitute for obedience, it is nothing but a blatant hypocrisy, a despicable Pharisaism... To your knees, man! and to your Bible! Decide at once! Don’t hedge! Time flies! Cease your insults to God, quit consulting flesh and blood. Stop your lame, lying, and cowardly excuses. Enlist! Live in your neighbourhood...
I may not be able to change what's happening in other parts of the world, but there's a lot that you & I can do to change our own street.
Reach out to your neighbours, show some love & compassion, share some food or tools, & treat others with respect & dignity.

It is often in the darkest skies that we see the brightest stars. (R Evans)
We are full of joy even when we suffer. We know that our suffering gives us the strength to go on. The strength to go on produces character. Character produces hope. And hope will never let us down. God has poured his love into our hearts. He did it through the Holy Spirit, whom he has given to us.

Gratefulness changes everything.
We pray for the big things and forget to give thanks for the ordinary, small (and yet really not small) gifts. (Bonhoeffer)

LIVE IN HIS LOVE
Jude 1:20-25
But you, dear friends, carefully build yourselves up in this most holy faith by praying in the Holy Spirit, staying right at the center of God's love, keeping your arms open and outstretched, ready for the mercy of our Master, Jesus Christ. This is the unending life, the real life!
Go easy on those who hesitate in the faith. Go after those who take the wrong way. Be tender with sinners, but not soft on sin. The sin itself stinks to high heaven.
And now to him who can keep you on your feet, standing tall in his bright presence, fresh and celebrating—to our one God, our only Savior, through Jesus Christ, our Master, be glory, majesty, strength, and rule before all time, and now, and to the end of all time. Yes.
