'Church' is supposed to reorient people to be aware of God throughout the week rather than be just the one encounter of God during the week.

You can get older without getting wiser. When you are older and wiser a lot of ego has gone out the window.

To your knees, man! and to your Bible! Decide at once! Don’t hedge! Time flies! Cease your insults to God, quit consulting flesh and blood. Stop your lame, lying, and cowardly excuses. Enlist! Reach out to your neighbours, show some love & compassion, share some food or tools, & treat others with respect & dignity.

We are full of joy even when we suffer. We know that our suffering gives us the strength to go on. The strength to go on produces character. Character produces hope.  And hope will never let us down. God has poured his love into our hearts. He did it through the Holy Spirit, whom he has given to us.

Go easy on those who hesitate in the faith. Go after those who take the wrong way. Be tender with sinners, but not soft on sin. The sin itself stinks to high heaven.

And now to him who can keep you on your feet, standing tall in his bright presence, fresh and celebrating—to our one God, our only Savior, through Jesus Christ, our Master, be glory, majesty, strength, and rule before all time, and now, and to the end of all time. Yes.
