what about you?

Most people do not listen with the intent to understand; they listen with the intent to reply. SCovey

The process of spiritual transformation is a gradual dismissal of the unreal images of God while becoming increasingly open to the true and living God. discover and experience the God that Jesus came to reveal. My spiritual guides have helped me understand that my default nature was originally set to believe that God’s acceptance, love and care for me is directly proportional to my level of activity for God. This belief system—the more I do for God the more God will love me—once dictated most of my waking activity. And it threatened to starve my soul. FAnderson

Going at the speed of life?!

At the age of 93 I am well aware that I do not have many years to live. Consequently, I try very hard to live my remaining years in such a manner that I really make a difference in as many lives as possible. How do I want to be remembered? Not primarily as a Christian scholar, but rather as a loving person. This can be the goal of every individual. If I can be remembered as a truly loving person, I shall be satisfied. Now I hope that this Quarterly Letter may help others to realize what comes first in the life of a Christian. The great idea is that a life of love is really open to all. Every individual who reads this letter can try to be more loving. ETrueblood

Jesus tells us very clearly that if we don't help the poor, we're going to hell.

But Jesus didn't say the government has to take care of them, or that we have to pay taxes to take care of them. Those are prudential judgments. CChaput

Don't waste your sorrows...

The community of God has no higher calling than to seize the opportunity to experience God.  Our fiercest battles are fought when we seek with all our heart to trust God so fully that we see every misfortune as something he permits and wants to use, to know him so richly that we turn to no one and nothing else to experience what our souls long to enjoy, to love him so completely and with such consuming passion that we hate anything that comes between us and eagerly give it up. The gift of pain.

Thank God for inventing pain! I don’t think he could have done a better job. It’s beautiful. PBrand
